Tom joins Kent/McBride after having served for more than twenty years as General Counsel to a major, privately-held gaming equipment manufacturer with headquarters in New Jersey and sales and service offices throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. At its peak, the company held over one hundred and fifty gaming related licenses. Prior to serving as General Counsel at the manufacturer, from 1989 to 1992, Tom served as Associate General Counsel to Harrah’s Casino Hotel in Atlantic City and as Assistant Counsel to the Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City from 1988 to 1989. Tom has extensive experience in gaming licensing and gaming regulatory compliance matters in jurisdictions throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. The matters Tom has handled included, but were not limited to, gaming device submissions and approvals, entity and individual licensing, regulatory violations and disciplinary matters. Tom has negotiated numerous exclusive distribution agreements, intellectual property license agreements and settlement agreements relating to significant commercial disputes between the company and third party vendors. In addition to his vast experience with respect to gaming law, as the company’s chief legal officer and General Counsel, Tom also was responsible for advising the company on all employment related and general legal matters impacting the corporation.
