Lance S. Forbes

Lance S. Forbes, Esq. is an accomplished trial lawyer and business transactional lawyer, licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with over twelve years of experience representing clients in all aspects of their business, professional and personal legal needs.

Mr. Forbes, upon graduation from Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey, clerked for the Presiding Civil Court Judge Cynthia Covie-Leese, J.S.C. of the Burlington County Vicinage, Superior Court of New Jersey. Following his clerkship, Mr. Forbes worked for a large regional New Jersey law firm and later a regional Philadelphia based law firm, focusing his practice in the areas of Construction/Complex Commercial Litigation, Business Formation and Counseling, and Insurance Defense. Mr. Forbes over his career has had the opportunity to work and develop professional relationships with some of the most well respected and influential clients and experts in the Construction, Design Professional, Public Adjusting and Real Estate fields to name a few.

Mr. Forbes has been appointed to serve in several public positions in the State of New Jersey, including public defender in the municipalities of Burlington city and Township of Riverside.

In his spare time Mr. Forbes enjoys practicing and teaching martial arts, hiking and skiing.

Legal accomplishments include:

  • Second chairing a trial in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and obtaining a verdict in favor of the client in excess of $2.4 million;
  • Handling real estate closings, both residential and commercial, as well as all other aspects of real estate transactions, including contract review for three day attorney review period, contract negotiation and resolution of title issues;
  • Handled arbitrations pursuant to the American Arbitration Association rules for Construction disputes;
  • Filing injunctions on public bid disputes, including obtaining injunctions on several publicly awarded contracts in Philadelphia;
  • Obtained a settlement agreement in the amount of $190,000.00 for a structural steel subcontractor after filing a Pennsylvania Mechanic's Lien on a large Philadelphia private construction project.
  • Impressive record of civil and criminal defense, including obtaining dismissals and favorable verdicts in D.U.I. and drug possession cases in State and municipal courts.
